Kids Deserve a Bright Future
"Kids in Union County deserve a bright future. I am running for Union County Public School Board of Education at-Large to ensure that every child has access to public education that promotes both academic excellence and social and emotional competency."
Invested UCPS Parent
& Volunteer
As a proud mom of three Union County Public School (UCPS) students, I have a vested interest in UCPS. As a mom, I’m on the front lines helping with homework, student stress, college readiness, extra curricular activities, volunteering, and teacher support. I want to ensure that our county’s schools provide rigorous and innovative curricula and instruction that is student-focused and will prepare our students for success in a 21st century workplace.
Serious About Safety
My daughters are survivors of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Newtown, CT, and are now thriving in Union County schools. In 2018, I began serving as a parent representative on UCPS’s safety committee where I engage with parents, the Board of Education, and UCPS staff to advocate for safety best practices. As a former Veterinarian, I am a diagnostician and problem solver at heart. I continue to advocate for evidence-based school safety measures that include bullying prevention and social and emotional wellness.
Supporting Educators
Preparing all students to succeed requires that teachers and school employees feel valued. I will advocate for proper classroom resources, classroom assistants, and professional development. In addition, I will back policies that create a healthy, productive learning environment by respecting teachers' expertise, providing adequate time for lesson planning, and allowing classroom autonomy for teachers.
